Progress Update: This 1976 FJ40 will be receiving a RMC Gold Restoration along with a rebuilt 2F for our customer in Georgia. Teardown completed. Not normally included in a Gold RMC restoration, we have cleaned and painted the frame in preparation for body installation. Prepped the firewall for paint. We will be starting on chassis mechanicals while we wait for the rebuilt motor and new tub. Chassis mechanicals have been completed. New motor has been installed. Installation of new tub has been completed. Reassembly of body has begun. Interior pieces have been repainted. With the painting complete, reassembly of the exterior trim has Completed. Completed 11/10/2006. This vehicle is equipped with the following: Rebuilt 2F engine 4 speed Factory Buckets (recovered) Jump seats (recovered) Factory roll bar Factory Bumper Brand new fenders New Aluminum Tub 4" Softride lift 32x11.50 tires Tuffy Center Console Parts ReplacedHigh quality front turn signals and tail lights, front bumper, front side emblems, rear reflectors, shifter knobs, dash cover, recovered front seats, recovered jump seats, fan belts, heater hoses, oil and oil filter, spark plugs, cap, rotor, wires, air and fuel filters, new valve cover gasket, shocks, spring bushings, front axle seals (inner and outer), and knuckle seals.Services PerformedCoolant system flushed and refilled, engine tuned to factory specs, valves adjusted, charging system tested, front wheel bearing packed and adjusted, front rear axle bearings checked and fluids replaced, transmission and transfer case inspected for smooth shifting and noise - fluids replaced, front and rear brake overhaul. |
